Dr. Jacques Hill, Ph.D.
Program Director
Dr. Hill has a PhD in Biology from University of Arkansas, an MS degree in Ecology and Evolution from Rutgers University, and a BS in Biology from Rider College. He has been teaching biology and environmental science courses, including human anatomy and physiology, zoology, and ecology at colleges and universities throughout the world for over twenty years. Dr. Hill has been doing research, teaching, and mentoring graduate students in Thailand since 2005. He lived in Nakhon Rachasima Province in northeast Thailand full time for three years. He speaks Thai at an intermediate level. Dr. Hill has been leading undergraduate students overseas for research and study abroad courses for 10 years. He has numerous connections to Thai Universities, government agencies, and hospitals.
Srichan Singthui
Associate Director and Senior Marketing Specialist
Srichan Singthui is a native of Northeast Thailand and an expert on Thai culture and language. She has an AS Degree in Graphic Design from Northwest Arkansas Community College. She accompanies all our programs in Thailand as well as manages our websites, marketing programs, and social media accounts.
Dr. Taksin Artchawakom, Ph.D.
Associate Director
Dr. Taksin Arthchawakom has made a life-long career out of conservation science and protected area management. As the long-standing director of Sakaerat Environment Research Station until his retirement in 2016 he cacilitated conservation and research projects thoughout the Sakaerat Biosphere Reserve and Thailand.
He recived an honorary Ph. D. from Suranaree University of Technology for his contributions to science and research thoughout his tenure at the Sakaerat Environment Research Station.
Dawn Cook, MS
Group Leader
Dawn Cook has BS and MS degrees in Education from University of Arkansas and is a candidate for a PhD in Ecology at SUT University in northeast Thailand where she is studying conservation of common and spitting cobras. She has been involved with our programs in Thailand for two years and knows her way around Bangkok and northeast Thailand quite well. She accompanies all our programs in Thailand and manages our social media accounts.
Jack Merten
Group Leader
Jack Merten, an Ohio native, is a medical student at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. He received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Arkansas where he studied Biology and Psychology. As an undergraduate, he researched pathogenic bacteria and tropical ecology. Jack spent a gap year solo backpacking across the globe, and has lead multiple study abroad groups in Thailand. He’s a yogi, avid podcast listener, and asian food fanatic.
Dr. Bartosz Nadolski, Ph.D.
Ecology Instructor
Dr. Nadolski is currently the Head Curator in the Municipal Zoological Garden in Warsaw Poland. He graduated with a BS in Occupational Health and Safety from Warsaw University of Ecology and Management in Poland. After deciding to pursue a carrier in ecology, he obtained an MS in Animal Science at Warsaw University of Life Sciences. After finishing his studies he spend 2.5 year in majestic New Zealand working in the farming sector. Next he started backpacking around SE Asia which eventually led him to the Sakaerat Environmental Research Station in NE Thailand. In 2015 he enrolled as a PhD student and established the Sakaerat Najas Project. His work is focused on spatial ecology of two medically important snakes in the region, the Monocled Cobra (Naja kaouthia) and the Indochinese Spitting Cobra (Naja siamensis). For 5 years, Bart trained lots of volunteers and students from around the globe to work on his research projects, teaching them research techniques such as radio tracking animals, surveying Sakaerat biodiversity and many other aspects of field work. He is completed his PhD in 2021. Bartosz is known worldwide as an expert on the ecology of cobras.
